The leaders I meet are fed up of spending lots of money on change consultants that have very little impact on the long-term business success. So why does change management and consulting often not get real results? Because they don’t get to the root of the problems.
A lot of coaching and organisational development focuses on behavioural change. Some also focus on the mindset shifts that are needed in people for change to happen. What is missed most of the time is looking at the wanted change in the wider context it belongs. See to get to the root of a problem you need to understand the history that has led to the problem and all the relevant influences.
Most of the time the real root of a problem is something you didn’t expect. Because if the story you had told yourself had been true, you would already have fixed the problem.
To explain what difference it makes to work this way, let me give you an example:
If you teach a person an amazing swimming technique they will do really well in a swimming pool. But once they get to the ocean they will struggle unless they know how to read the ocean, unless they know about the undercurrents in that ocean and how the tide moves.
The work I do not only teaches you a great “swimming technique”, we get to the undercurrent by using the method of Family and Organisational Constellations.
Using the Constellation approach we reveal blindspots in you and in your organisation. We address the undercurrent issues that determine performance.
How I work:
I first work the leader of the team or organisation, and if needed we later bring in the whole team. We create a map of the relevant dynamics and reveal the patterns that keep your business stuck. It is almost like getting an x-ray of the situation and then together we find a solution that works for the whole system.
Central to the way I work is the methodology of Family and Organisational Constellations. It helps us get a map of both the visible and invisible people dynamics that are at play.
You will look at your business differently because the Family and Organisational Constellations approach takes into account the past, the present and the future, and things you may not have thought of like historical dynamics and unconscious loyalties come to the surface.
When working with constellations, our aim is not to fix. That tends to narrow focus and lead to short-term solutions. Instead, the intention is to create the smallest possible intervention to again create movement. The grace and humility of that really resonates for me and as the facilitator and coach my job is not to be your saviour and fix your business. My job is to strengthen you to move forward on your own.
Time and time again I am amazed at how quickly we get to the heart of things. Often it only takes a couple of hours to create a map that gets straight to the heart of what is needed including the key to a year-long (often decade-long) pattern.
Ultimately, my mission is to help develop healthy structures in the world – by that I mean healthy families, companies, organisations, governmental systems – because I believe that is a key component in making our world better.
If you are interested in working with me, you can book a free consultation and we will talk about your needs and wants.
